Project goal:
To provide a safe haven for street and working children where they can be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their life

Project objectives:
1.    To construct a centre for street and working children in Kabul
2.    To provide the basic non formal education for 450 street children in the centre who are surviving on marginal a income ctivities on the streets of Kabul, mostly begging
3.    To provide 450 street children with access to education and improve mental health status of those working children whose lives have been affected by the civil war .
4.    To increase the awareness among  local community leaders, government workers and employers of the children about the child rights and proper behavior with the street and working children
5.    To equip the children with different skills through vocational trainings

Major Activities:
AWEC is the only non- governmental organization which has received land from the Government of Afghanistan. The land in Kabul will be used to construct a building for Street and Working Children Model Center and office. the basement for the building was laid out at the end 2007 and the construction is ongoing upon availability of funds
