Set up and operate 2 resource centers in Kabul. the centers will conduct street based outreach work to protect the rights of the working children engaged in exploitative and hazardous activities through the provision of development opportunities for child workers and their families. The centers will provide opportunities for working children and through them their families, giving them access to education, vocational skills training, life skills training, psycho social support, small scale start up business funds and to have opportunities to develop as productive and respected citizens.

 Initiative to promote Afghan Civil Society IPACS Kabul

AWEC is implementing partner of I-PACS( Initiative to Promote Afghan Civil Society) project which is started on 2005 funded by USAID and administered by Counter Part International.

The goal of the project is to increase the role and viability of civil society in Afghanistan by providing capacity building training , and providing small grants to civil society organizations showing potential to be sustainable and effective organizations.         

AWEC is supporting 100 civil societies including national NGOs, associations , foundations, and local shuras in east , south east , north east and central region of Afghanista

Under I-PACS program AWEC is  supporting 100 civil societies through four Civil Society Support Centers(CSSCs) at four region of Afghanistan.

1.      Through AWRC (Afghan Women Resource Center) which is located in Nengerhar Province  AWEC supports 20 civil societies in Nengerhar , Laghman, Kunar, and Noorstan providences.

2.      Through ECW (Education Center for poor Women and poor girls of Afghanistan) which is located in Kunduz AWEC supports 20 civil societies in Kunduz, Badakhshan, and Takhar and Baghlan provinces.

3.      Through TLO (Tribal Liaison Office) which is located in Paktya AWEC supports 20 civil societies from Paktya, Paktika, Khost, and Logar Provinces.

4.      Through BEST (Basic Education and employable Skills Development) AWEC support 20 civil societies of Ghazni, Bamyan and Dikondi provinces.

20 other civil societies locating in Kabul, Panjsher, and Kapessa are directly supported by AWEC.

In order to provide for these civil societies quality services and technical assistance at all mentioned above four regions and AWEC central office has one support centre which is equipped by computers having internet connection and library. I-PACS and non I-PACS CSOs, individuals including male and female are main beneficiaries.
