Just Future - Access to Justice

Location: Kabul Total Beneficiaries: 5000 Main Activities: The project aimed to act as a mediator between communities and local authorities in the Kabul province by developing a cohort of practical dialogue and advocacy strategies that were tailored to local leaders. This involved enhancing connections and facilitating the sharing of diverse needs, concerns, and aspirations. The project also formed groups of influential leaders, approved by both the project and donors, to address community focal problems and collaborate with local authorities in finding better and feasible solutions. Goals: Access to justice and Inclusive decision-making Key achievements: The project provided a platform for community members to share social unethical and pressing issues, and norms and engage in discussions to address these problems throughout the informal justice system. Additionally, the project facilitated the establishment of a peace network and conducted training to empower individuals in understanding and defending their basic rights, resolving conflicts, and promoting peace with justice. Moving forward, this project successfully fostered stronger connections between communities and local authorities by facilitating open and constructive dialogues. In this project access to Justice project members had an active role in the investigation of human rights violation cases in Kabul province, that resulted in creating a strong network of community members and AIHRC, DoJ, AGO, AIBA, CSOs, Media. Creating a platform for meaningful discussions, enabled community members to voice their concerns. while also ensuring that local leaders actively listened and responded to these needs. These activities enabled them to bridge the gap between communities and local authorities and foster stronger collaboration between local people, shuras, and local authorities.
